Entry for #68 Inky Paws challenge - color theme

My entry for the current Inky Paws Challenge which is a color challenge;

I used one of the DT cards as my inspiration and created this one with stamps from the Newton Unwinds stamp set. Newton is colored with Zig clean color real brush markers and I added a little white details with a Signo uniball pen. I have such trouble using this pen but after a tip from superb color artist Sandy Allnock on her YouTube channel, I finally got it to work. The trick for me was to barely touch the paper with the pen, then the ink flows. I however need lots more practice to get that to work but thanks again Sandy!

The background panel is cut with an MFT stitched scalloped frame die and the yellow circle is cut with Lawn Fawn scalloped die and MFT circle stitched die. The banner die is also Lawn Fawn.

I finished off with some Nuvo drops in yellow.

Out of this world glittery birthday card

The last card with the Lawn Fawn Out of this world stamp set and with the themes for the challenges from Lawn Fawnatics (color rainbow) and The Male Room craft challege (space);

The background is a water colored panel. I used a two star dies from Lawn Fawn to diecut the stars and shooting star and placed a gold glitter paper underneath. The panel is also framed with a black scalloped diecut frame from My Favorite Things.

All stamped images are colored with Zig clean color real brush markers with the addition of Stickles for a bit of extra glitter.

Shoot for the stars pull tab slider

I've been wanting to use the Lawn Fawn Out of this world stamp set for a while and all of a sudden two great challenges comes along that gets you moving. Lawn Fawnatics is running a "rainbow" theme and The Male Room craft challege is having a space theme so this is what I came up with;
The background is done with distress inks in various colors. The images are colored with Zig clean color real brush markers. The sentiments and stars are heat embossed with silver embossing powder. I also used some Stickles for a little extra bling. When you pull that tab...

...up comes our little astronaut. The string is just taped on the back of the images and follows along as you pull the tab. All dies are Lawn Fawn; Slide on over to create the slider, Puffy cloud borders for the clouds and the Stitched rectangle for the panels.

Here's the card in action;

It's a beautiful day

For these two floral cards I used Altenew's Beautiful day stamp set. The images are stamped with Altenew inks (yellow) and My Favorite things (green). I heat embossed some images in the background and colored them with Zig clean color real brush markers.
The red ink is Lawn Fawn's Lobster ink (very red). The images are fuzzy cut and mounted with foam tape.

The gold mat is from a craft fabric.

The pink in the large flower is Altenew ink. Finished off the card with some clear droplets from Pretty Pink Posh.

The gold speckles is chunky gold embossing powder from Stampendous.

Persian motifs with perfect pearls

I wanted to try heat embossing on craft and the paint with Perfect pearls following the inspiration from a video by Jennifer McGuire. I used the Altenew Persian motifs stamp set.
Here is used the Perfect pearls colour Copper mixed with water and then painted on. The diecut sentiment is from Lawn Fawn and the stamped one from Mama Elephant.

Same idea, only different sentiment and matted with a dark brown panel. The diecut sentiment is from Lawn Fawn and the stamped one from Mama Elephant.

I of course also did a couple with Distress Oxide inks and then painted the flowers with water and lifted the ink. After they were dry I went back in with Perfect pearls mixed with water.

Distress Oxide lifting with Perfect Pearls

Trying out the distress oxide ink lifting technique demonstrated by Jennifer McGuire in video not long ago. Instead of just ink lifting with water, I also painted in some water mixed with Perfect pearls.
Flowers are from Altenew stamp set Persian motifs. The butterflies are from a set from Slöjd-Detaljer and from Marianne Design. The dies are from Gummiapan.

The stamps are from Altenew dahlia stamp set. The die is Lawn Fawn and the label sentiment is Mama Elephant.

Ink lifting an ink blended background, adding Perfect pearls

I saw this video with Jennifer McGuire where she demonstrated how to ink lift from a background that had been sponged with Distress Oxide ink. When you paint the heat embossed area and dab off the color, you get a white chalky area. Really cool effect. I wanted to try and add something cool to this so after I've done the first step of just painting with water and then lifting the ink and drying my panel, I went back in with water mixed with perfect pearls. You got such a cool effect;
Here I used Perfect pearls with copper.

Die cut sentiment is Lawn Fawn. Stamped sentiment is from Mama Elephant.

Another version where I used ordinary Perfect pearls.

Here is another version where I used craft cardstock instead and simply painted the flowers with Copper Perfect pearls. Love the effect!

Newton unwinds, Inky paws sketch challenge #67

I saw that there was a new challenge in the Inky Paws Challenge blog and I wanted to partake. The theme this time is a sketch challenge;
And this is my take on the sketch;

Newton rainbow unwinds
I used the stampset Newton Unwinds. Love those kitties with yarn balls. The kitty is colored with Zig clean color real brush markers. The tag I used an embossing (can't remember the brand) folder with paw prints and then I inked it with distress inks in rainbow color (from the top Festive berries, Mustard Seed, Peacock feathers, Salty ocean, Dusty concord). I die cut the tag (Nellie Snellen) after I inked and embossed so the paw prints are then pushed back into the paper. The tag is not completely flat but it looks a bit different.

Newton rainbow unwinds close-up
I cut a tag from yellow cardstock (Lawn Fawn) and heat embossed the sentiment in white. With the grey layer, I white heat embossed the yarn from the stamp set in the four corners. The largest mat is from Lawn Fawn patterned paper Rainbow plaid.

To finish off, the tag is foam mounted as well as the kitty. I also added some Nuvo drops in black and a black and white bakers twine from my stash.
